Manage projects, coordinate administrative and technical aspects of assigned projects, and estimate scope of work;
Work with drafters and review their daily work explaining architectural drawings and specifications from clients;
Develop work plans on projects with detailed analysis of materials, finishes, and door and glazing schedules;
Prepare scaled drawings based on design manuals, installation instructions, and wind load charts for various aluminum manufacturers;
Communicate with local aluminum manufacturer representatives for special profiles or products not posted on their websites;
Draw storefronts, curtain wall elevations and engineering details per manufacturer standards and apply them to building conditions created by the architect on record;
Analyze door or window opening jamb, head and sill conditions for opening anchorage and required thermal performance;
Review engineering calculations, wind load charts and deflection criteria on shop drawings;
Prepare shop drawings and details of fiber glass doors, sunshades, blast hazard mitigation systems and hurricane impact systems;
Create shop drawings of skin aluminum panels for buildings including details of color renderings and presentations;
Prepare RFI and change orders to architects and contractors;
Create drawings for glass railing and door fabrication with execution production precision;
Update the database and work library with the latest manufacturer drawings. Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Architectural Engineering or Architecture. At least 5 years of progressive experience;
Demonstrated experience in scaled shop drawings and design of storefronts, curtain walls, sunshades, glass rails and door systems;
Demonstrated experience in shop drawing fiberglass doors, blast hazard mitigation systems and hurricane impact systems;
Demonstrated proficiency in using AUTOCAD, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office.
